A quick post to wish you and your furbaby a Happy Puppy Day! This national day is now internationally recognized after being founded by Colleen Paige in 2006. The day was established with two main purposes in mind. First, the desire to improve the lives of puppies everywhere by encouraging rescues while informing/educating people about the horrors of puppy mills. Secondly, it’s a day for dog lovers around the world to celebrate the joy and unconditional love that puppies bring to our lives.
I hope and trust you’ve had a pleasant day celebrating and basking in the gift of your pupper’s life through a little extra spoiling on this special day. We took Scamp for a couple of brief walks (brief due to rainy weather), played a couple of his favorite games inside and treated him to a pup cup of ice-cream. We’re now cuddled in the family room with a warm fire going. Regardless of how old our pets get, I think we’ll always cherish and think of them as puppies – much like mothers do with their human babies.
Make sure to snap at least a photo or two of your pet at this stage in their life, and feel free to share one with me as I’d love to see your furbabies, too! In honor of the day, and because I never miss a chance to share pictures of our Scamp, I’ve posted some of him below that we captured during his early puppy days…
~ As promised, I will be sharing with you next time how to create your very own pet cookbook. Until then, I thank you for following and wish you wet-nosed licks and sloppy kisses from your precious canine! God bless
